Speech Day Cum Learning Festival

Hello Lower woodwinds!
On the 26th of July was Crescent's 52nd Annual Speech Day, and also our Learning Festival. Speech Day was not one of the more fulfilling events of the two that day, because we had to stand. On stage. Which is quite weird, because the ex-principals can see our inner thighs. We only got to play 1 song, apart from the School Song and the Fanfare, which was one of our NBC choice pieces, Radetzky March. On reflection, i think we screwed it up quite a bit, but the audience didn't seem to notice, as they were all talking to each other. :( Either way, it was a blessing in disguise, ha ha.

Learning Festival was the highlight, as all of Lower Wee Wee's Secondary 3 members performed for the first ever Chinese Drum Performance, with ACS(I), for the launch of Learning Festival! It was really exciting, and i can still remember the moments before the performance. Words cannot describe this.

We also performed with Fairfield Methodist's Band. We played Shrek Dance Party together and it was really cool! They played their NBC pieces, which was really nice, especially Kaze No Mai. I tried socialising with their bassoonists but then they looked quite gloomy. :( Audrey and Sheenice had a good time sitting next to their bass clarinet, HA HA HA.

CGSSB set up a food stall for LF's Asian Fare, aptly named Et Bientot Le Muah Chee. We sold the best Muah Chee amongst three stalls (comments from NON-band members, thank you very much), which was excellent! Sad that all of you seniors didn't get to try it! Even the teachers had to order from us!

All in all, it was an eventful day! To cut a long story short, there were plenty of lessons we could learn from. This also bonded our band closer-something we need in time for the upcoming SYF. Hopefully, all of us will grow closer together as a section, and as a band. One Band, One Sound. What more can we say?

Band was.. SYF SYF SYF SYF...!!! Its coming so fast, the end of band(omg I hate the way it even rhymes; end, band?). To my dearest section - Kavitha, Kelley, Yingtong, Laura, Fadilah, Nicolette, its been a long way and we've come this far. All the concerts and outings(although there were only a few, they were extremely treasurable) and coming up, the SYF I will always remember. We can do it! Never say die, Energizer. Laura is transfering to our section on Mon. Hmm. I'm quite lost at what to teach her really. Just glad that i dun hav to take part in SYF playing my part alone. At least I dun have to play so loud. With all the "VIRUS" going round the skl, its quite scary really. Luckily i scanned my computer and it only detected a minor virus. Pretty clean as compared to my home one. My poor home computer got 9 trojan viruses. Anw gg to play piano now.

Chocolate cake war!Whole band gathered at the canteen to celebrate ms low's bday.She made a wish:To let us get gold with honours in SYF. Adeline and a few other seniors smeared ms low with chocolate cake, and she came back and smeared innocent sec1s and those that cld not run away fast enough with chocolate cake. The chocolate cake war officially started. Yingtong, Finalia and I were fortunate enough to make it unscattered as we retreated quickly and avoided the war. Everyone else wasn't as lucky. But Isabelle had the most chocolate cake smeared on her.haha. In the end the whole band room stank of rotten cake smell.left quite late.what a memorable day.

It's really quite scary to take part in NBC. We had to take a cab back as they decided: Change of plans. After we performed they insisted that we had to take the bus back with our instrument. If we wanted to watch the results then we had to come back with our own transportation. Luckily Michellina sponsored our[Liwei, Sandra and I's]cab fare. We watched MusArt band. I really think they're quite good.

Then the results.Crescent band:Silver=( missed just by 2%.Poor Mrs Chua must be quite disappointed. Even Haixing got silver. But they missed by 0.something %.Even worse.Anw with the speech day coming up I better play to polish up the pieces that we're gg to perform.Pity Mrs Chua took our BIG FUN IN THE SUN.I think it's quite fun to play.The pieces we're playing are:
1.Lion King
2.Postcard from singapore:movements II and III
3.Abba gold
4.And-1-more-I-cant-remember
Kind of wished that we could play the Phantom of the opera song, or maybe RATS BATS AND SPIDERS.
